Student teams have visited Carpinteria five times through the project development process. In the first visit, a site inventory and site walk-through with City of Carpibteria planning staff was conducted. In the second and third visits, community meetings were held at the Canalino Elementary School Cafeteria, during which community members provided feedback on students' urban design concepts, land use proposals, and draft design guidelines. The completed vision plan alternatives were presented to the community at a meeting of the Planning Commission on June 04, 2012.
