California Planning Foundation (CPF) Outstanding Student Scholarship

See the announcements and application forms for details.

Selection process is conducted by the CPF Board.  Forms are available at the CRP Department office.

Available to outstanding students entering their final year of an undergraduate or graduate program who meet the following criteria:

First Place and Runners-up for the following scholarships will also receive CCAPA conference registration and APA membership.

Russell Fey Scholarship

The Central Section contributes to this award to honor Russell Fey, founding faculty member for the planning program at Fresno State University. The Section encourages consideration of students from the Central Valley for this award.

Ken Milam Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored in honor of Ken Milam by the County Planning Directors’ Association for students interested in public planning in California

Central Coast Scholarship

The Central Coast Sections each fund an annual scholarship for a student from the Central Coast Section or attending a planning program in the Section.

Richard G. Munsell/CPR Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored in honor of Richard G. Munsell by the California Planning Roundtable for students interested in public planning in California.

APA Judith McManus Price Scholarship

Available to women and members of one of the following minority groups: African American, Hispanic American or Native American intending to pursue careers as practicing planners in the public sector.

Faculty Nominated Awards

No applications ar  required for these awards. Nominations and selections are made by CRP Department Faculty

American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Award

(Students will receive a certificate from AICP)

For graduating undergraduate and graduate students who meet the following criteria:

Eligible students are nominated and selected by CRP Department faculty.

American Planning Association (APA) Distinguished Leadership Award for a Student Planner

(Students receive a plaque and recognition at national APA conference)

For graduate and undergraduate students in their final year of studies who demonstrate:

California Planning Foundation (CPF) Graduate Student merit Award

(1-yr APA membership)

For graduating undergraduate and graduate students who meet the following criteria:

One graduate and one undergraduate student will be nominated and selected by CRP Department faculty.

California Planning Foundation (CPF) Continuing Student Scholarship

(Two students, $$ and one-year APA student membership)
For outstanding continuing undergraduate and graduate students who meet the following criteria:

CRP Alumni Award

Given to graduating undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrated superior academic achievement and professional promise.  Students are nominated and selected by CRP Department faculty.

Faculty Recognition

Given to undergraduate and graduate students who have demonstrated superior academic achievement and contribution to class and departmental activities.  Students are nominated and selected by CRP Department faculty.

Service to the Department

Given to undergraduate and graduate students who have demonstrated exceptional contribution to the CRP Department.  Students are nominated and selected by CRP Department faculty with assistance from the Associated Students in Planning.
