CRP 203-01 Urban Design Studio: Spring 2011
Atlantic Avenue Urban Design Plan, Long Beach, CA

In Spring 2011 quarter, CRP 203-01 students worked with the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency staff and Atlantic Avenue Area community members to develop urban design plan proposalsfor Atlantic Avenue. Under Dr. Toker's supervision, three student teams conducted an in-depth site analysis and three community meetings through the planning process. Through the participatory process three urban design proposals were developed, with each alternative addressing land use, circulation and form-based codes. The three proposals were presented to the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency Board and the community at the end of the quarter.
